Well-Being Excellence
In May, MedStar Health’s nursing program was recognized with the first Well-Being Excellence™ credential awarded by the prestigious American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). MedStar Health was the only acute care health system in the Mid-Atlantic region awarded this credential and one of only five recognized internationally for the new global distinction that highlights the effectiveness of work to improve the wellbeing of nurses and other diverse teams. Watch the moment we learned the great news.
MHH achieved Magnet Designation for excellence in nursing (less than 10% of hospitals nationwide have achieved a Magnet designation)
MHH was recently awarded NICHE Exemplar status
Supporting Nurses
Through our professional practice model and collaboration, we continue to improve our nursing practice environment to streamline and reduce friction in our daily work. Your suggestions have been implemented.
- Virtual Nurse Program: Allows nurses to provide remote care, improving work-life balance
- Remote Visual Monitoring: Allows ease of monitoring patients, allowing nurses more flexibility to streamline workflows and reduce burnout
- Added Vascular Access Nurse: Added a specialized Vascular Access nurse to the care team to support nurses
- EHR Efficiency: Streamlined EHR system to reduce administrative burden, allowing nurses to spend more time providing direct patient care
- Float Pool Expansion and Cross-Training: Promotes flexibility, provides additional support, balances staffing, and encourages professional growth
Recognition
We believe that our nurses should be acknowledged and rewarded for their work. This is critical for boosting morale, enhancing engagement, and recognizing their achievements. We spotlight our nurses monthly, recognizing them for their life-saving contributions.
